2nd Annual Talk and Taste

The Western Regional Council held the second annual Talk & Taste Event at AT&T Park in June. It was an inspirational evening with extraordinary individuals who have positively impacted the health and quality of life of people in the Bay Area and around the world.

Over 200 supporters attended and the event raised double the financial support for MedShare from the first year.

Highlights of the the evening included:

– The honorees – who represented the three types of beneficiaries of MedShare – sharing their stories of how MedShare improved the lives of their patients

• Hospital Recipient – Sister Ijeoma Okoye OP nurse, midwife and administrator of
  St, Dominic Catholic Hospital in Ogungbade Nigeria
• Safety Net Clinic – Noha Aboelata M.D. Founder of Roots Community Health
  Center in East Oakland
• Medical Mission Team – Emily Rymland nurse practitioner who specializes in HIV
  care in Oakland and founder of Em’s Clinic in Buseesa Western Uganda

– Inspirational remarks by MedShare CEO Charles Redding, the Fund-A-Need Auction emceed by Renel Brooks-Moon the voice of the San Francisco Giants, Silent Wine Auction spirited networking and good food.

While Talk and Taste is our major Council community fundraiser, we also rely on our Council members for friend raising. Introducing new supporters to MedShare who are individuals, companies, and foundations.
