ATLANTA, Georgia – MedShare, a Decatur nonprofit organization, announced it has named nonprofit professional Josh Kravitz as Chief Operating Officer.
“Josh has been a tremendous asset to MedShare over the years, having worked extensively with the operations team,” said A.B. Short, CEO and Co-Founder of MedShare. “With his experience and leadership skills, I am confident he will continue to successfully grow our operations towards better achieving our mission of improving the environment and global health.”
Kravitz has a longtime career in the nonprofit sector and with MedShare, having served as product procurement director and programs director. Before joining MedShare in 2005, he spent time as the executive director of Democrats Abroad, a voter rights organization in Washington D.C., and also managed the Empower Program that introduced violence prevention classes to the main curriculum of District of Columbia public schools. His 10 years of nonprofit experience also includes stints as a site manager and studying abroad in Cuba, through which he was inspired to focus on international humanitarian work.
“After five years in various operational positions at MedShare, I have seen our organization grow exponentially,” said Kravitz. “I look forward to continuing my work with the team to position the organization towards further national growth, to foster better collaborations between our two offices and to establish a more focused shipping plan for MedShare’s target international regions.”
MedShare is expanding nationally, having opened its Western Distribution Center in San Leandro, CA, in October of 2008. The organization also recently hit a milestone of shipping its 500th forty-foot container of medical supplies and equipment abroad.
