ATLANTA, Georgia – Out of 53 international charities, Charity Navigator rates MedShare as the top charity in the category of international charities providing human relief supplies.
Charities are scored based on organizational efficiency and capacity. Under efficiency, Charity Navigator looks at expenses allocated to programs, administration and fundraising. Organizational capacity ratings are based on primary growth revenue compared to program expense growth. MedShare scored the highest out of all 53 charities in this category with 69.75 and an overall four-star rating.
“We have always strived to stay mission-focused and to operate MedShare with integrity, and it is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious charity evaluator as Charity Navigator,” says A.B. Short, Co-Founder and CEO of MedShare.
Charity Navigator has also ranked MedShare in the past on their Top Ten lists. MedShare is ranked No. 2 on the current list of 10 Highly Ranked Charities Relying on Private Contributions, and in 2008, the organization ranked No. 4 on the Slam Dunk Charity list. On both of these top ten lists, MedShare was the only Georgia nonprofit listed.
Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities, assessing the financial health of over 5,000 to help charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions. For more information, go to www.charitynavigator.org
