Dr. Nicolas Adjabu Visits MedShare's Headquarters

October 26, 2012

In September, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Nicolas Adjabu, Deputy Director of Clinical Engineer of Ghana Health Service, at our Decatur office. Dr. Adjabu attended the University of London along with MedShare's Director of Biomedical Engineering, Eben Amstrong, holds a degree in Medicines, and is also a medical doctor.

Dr. Adjabu has been our main contact for coordinating six shipments of medical supplies, equipment and beds consigned to Ghana Health Service in the past year and a half, some of which were sponsored by the Coca Cola Africa Foundation (TCCAF). His duties in working with MedShare have been to order supplies from our inventory, approve final packing lists, communicate regarding the customs clearance process that his logistics team is going through, and discuss the distribution of our aid throughout Ghana after delivery.

This meeting with Dr. Adjabu was focused around MedShare's ShareHope program, sponsored by The Coca-Cola African Foundation. His visit to MedShare, as coordinator of the pilot program of ShareHope, a joint collaboration between MedShare and CitiHope, was sponsored by TCCAF to impact three hospitals in Ghana over a three year period. A pre-assessment tool was designed by MedShare and CitiHope in collaboration with Dr. Adjabu to be used by a joint on-site team in Ghana.

Dr. Adjabu's visit set the stage for a successful pilot program to be duplicated in the 4 other ShareHope designated countries. TCCAF identified recipient countries Malawi, Cameroon, Mauritaniia, and Kenya. We are thankful to have had this time with his to discuss ways to save more lives and improve healthcare in Ghana!
